The River City Park Trail is a 2
mile multi-use trail within the City
of Sand Springs. It links State
Highway 97 to the Arkansas River and
to Wekiwa Road. The first segment of
trail meanders along the north bank
of the river, connecting the rodeo
grounds, softball complex, and
picnic area. The second segment of
the trail extends from the river to
Wekiwa Road connecting a major
soccer complex and baseball
facilities.
A small waterfall was created in
conjunction with a low water
crossing and serves as a point of
interest along the trail, as well as
a 100' long pedestrian bridge in
this area. River City Park's many
activity areas play host to numerous
annual events and provide many
opportunities for recreation and
leisure.
The park's variety of activities
and scenic trail set the stage for
River City Park to become the
premiere recreational facility for
the Sand Springs Park System.
