Quartz Mountain Trails - I, II, & Twin Peaks
Lone Wolf, Oklahoma

Quartz Mountain is one of Oklahoma’s most scenic and a widely used outdoor recreation areas. The addition of safe, multiuse accessible trails allows even more people the option to experience the outdoor beauty of the park.

The new segments are similar to constructed trails previously funded from the 2000 TEA 21 Enhancement Program. The most recent Twin Peaks phase was completed in 2009. The environmentally sensitive and aesthetically pleasing segments are an important connection to the 5.2 miles of trail system for the park. These trails complete the Quartz Mountain Trails Master Plan and allow safe and easy access to the widely used amenities such as the Performing Arts Center, Quartz Mountain Lodge, and scenic Twin Peaks area. A major feature of the trail is a five span pedestrian bridge across the Little Red River with a total length of 281 feet. The trail will also help connect pedestrians and cyclists to the golf course, boating facilities, picnic areas, and future Farm Rail bike/pedestrian route. Educational opportunities located at kiosks and on granite signage throughout the park trail system lend useful information about the park’s history, geology, vegetation, and wildlife. Trash receptacles placed along the trail will keep the park and ecosystem clean and unharmed.
