The Claremore Lake Trail is a 2.1 mile segment of the overall Claremore Citywide Trail system and is one of the highest priority trail segments outlined in the 2001 City of Claremore Trails Master Plan. The 10' wide concrete trail follows the west shore of Claremore Lake. The purpose of this trail is to provide an effective and safe bike and pedestrian connection around Claremore Lake and through central Claremore to Rogers State University. Along its course, the trail will connect several parks, schools, and other public facilities. Phase I of the Claremore Citywide Trail is composed of two of the highest priority trail segments as outlined in the 2001 City of Claremore Trails Master Plan.

The entire length of this trail will be within the 112 acre Claremore Lake Park, a major destination which includes several fishing piers, an indoor fishing facility, two pavilions, a playground, and numerous picnic areas. The project also includes a 111' pre-manufactured bow truss bridge.

The Blue Starr Drive Linkage is the east/west spine included in Phase I of the Claremore Citywide Trail. This linkage is a 2.9 mile "share the road" on-street bikeway along Blue Starr Drive. Blue Starr Drive is a critical linkage through Claremore because it is the only suitable east/west corridor, which begins east of town at Claremore Lake and extends west to Rogers State University. It provides 6,170 residents living within .5 miles of the trail access to the Central Business District and other key destinations.
