A bond issue, passed in 2009, includes the construction of Collinsville City Park’s new skate park, playgrounds, spray pad, rest room and new basketball court. The spray pad is a colored concrete paving with water jets arching out of the paving. Above, water pour or spray out of features that look like flowers, buckets and directional spray jets. The playground has two different play equipment pieces for two age groups, 2-5 years and 6-12 years. The playground surface is poured in place rubber for ease of maintenance. The skate park is a concrete pad with various banks and ramps to provide challenging skating events for the users. A new concrete basketball court with painted striping is placed adjacent to the skate park. Decorative lighting provides increased night time safety.
